I have been reading Sartre recently, and came across the largest, most complete exhibition ever dedicated to him at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. On their website, we can virtually retrace Sartre’s life and work articulated around three main thematic elements: freedom, commitment and fraternity.

Our friends at Kino Lorber in New York have made Justin Pemberton’s documentary Capital in the Twenty-First Century available for online viewing (sorry: US only). Largely based on economist Thomas Piketty’s theories, the film is a reality-check on inequality – or as this review from The Intercept put it yesterday: ‘Finally a Movie that tells the story of how we got into this mess.’ The online screening supports local independent  cinemas across the US.

The multi-platform digest Home Cooking features poems by Precious Okoyomon, cooking with Korakrit Arunanondchai, playlists by Emily Wardill, wing-making with Marianna Simnet and more, with ever-growing contributions by artists on Instagram, Twitch, Vimeo and elsewhere.

Released at the end of April, Eight Pieces for Piano and JX​-​8P by Gemini Class comprises eight tracks of unexpected ambience. My favourite track is ‘Raster’s Last Stand’, which feels like an emotional Dario Argento porn soundtrack that moves between piano textures and sci-fi atmospheres.
