Key safety information

We have worked hard to ensure that the ICA is a Covid-safe venue, and have followed all the safety and hygiene measures set out in the latest government directives to make our building as safe as possible. It should go without saying that to everyone here at the ICA, the health and safety of our visitors and staff are of paramount importance.

We’ve put together a brief guide to the changes we’ve made in response to Covid-19 – along with the advice and regulations you should follow when you visit. In particular, please note that if you are able to do so, you must wear a face covering at all times within the building.

Thank you for your patience and support during this challenging year. We can’t wait to see you again.

Throughout the building

Contactless hand sanitiser units and bottled hand sanitiser are available throughout the ICA – please use them regularly.

We’ve applied long-lasting anti-viral lacquer to all handles and other touch points, and will be cleaning and disinfecting surfaces regularly throughout each day.

Cinema 1, Cinema 2 and Theatre

As of 1 October, we are no longer operating with reduced capacities in our auditoriums. This means for busy screenings, you may be sitting close to others. Please rest assured that the auditoriums are well ventilated; we have recently upgraded the fresh air and HVAC systems.

We’ll also disinfect our cinema seats in between every screening and performance, and have allowed extra time between screenings to do so.

Exhibition spaces

We are retaining pre-booked time slots for our exhibitions to ensure the spaces do not get too crowded, as we want you to have a comfortable visit.

Toilets

Our toilets have had a makeover including new contactless flushes, soap, taps and hand-dryers, and we have an enhanced cleaning regime in place.
How you can help

Please do everything you can to keep everyone safe:

Book in advance online to reduce the need for in-person contact with our staff.

We request that you wear a face covering at all times when inside the building, unless you are eating, drinking or exempt for medical reasons.

Listen to our staff’s guidance as you enter our spaces. We are here to help you enjoy your visit.

Use the hand sanitisers – and wash your hands when you can.

While we will accept cash for payments, please use a credit card if you can.
