EDZ invites Flora Yin Wong, Organ Tapes, Tzekin and x/o to test the limits of speed and stillness in the rave. Three live sets throughout the night exploring the club, hybrid djing and improv, finishing in an all-in b2b.

EDZ was founded as Eternal Dragonz in Los Angeles in 2015 from shared experiences of karaoke, yearning and long highway cruises, and continues as a collective of artists, musicians and designers exploring the fractures of diaspora through sound, writing, visuals and conversations.

Flora Yin Wong is a sound artist who uses rudimentary field recordings and granular synthesis, underpinned by influences from club culture. Her debut album was released on Modern Love, and has featured on labels like PAN, Danse Noire, and Circadian Rhythms. She has been commissioned by / performed at international galleries such as Palais de Tokyo, MACRO Roma, Fondation Beyeler, Triennale Milano, Somerset House, The V&A Museum, Cafe OTO, ISSUE Project Room, and Volksbuhne Theater, to clubs like Berghain, Razzmatazz and Printworks. This year she launched label and publishing house Doyenne, releasing music and texts, and will be releasing a commissioned work with Paris’ INA GRM, which was developed on a 48-channel speaker system alongside the likes of Stephen O’Malley, Puce Mary and Jim O’Rourke & Eiko Ishibashi.

Organ Tapes is a musician from London and Shanghai. His music is characterised by layered guitar loops, midi instrumentation, field recordings and autotune vocals. Recorded between late 2019 and throughout 2020, his most recent album is called 唱着那无人问津的歌谣 / Chang Zhe Na Wu Ren Wen Jin De Ge Yao (Worldwide Unltd 2022) and demonstrates a return to guitar-focused songwriting. It was preceded by an EP Plenty Wine In The Cup (self-released 2022). Other releases include full-lengths Hunger In Me Living (TT Label 2019) and Into One Name (Genome 6.66mbp 2017) and the EP Words Fall To Ground (Creamcake 2016), as well as various collaborative works. He also releases club edits and mashups under the ‘DJ Corpmane’ alias and hosts a monthly show on NTS Radio.

Tzekin is a musician and saxophonist from Sydney whose music dissects rnb and k-pop through trance music, highways and the ocean. He is part of EDZ/Eternal Dragonz, a collective who have released works with Andrew Thomas Huang, Scintii, ONY, x/o, Le Makeup, Cryalot and Lawrence Lek. His EPs Kiko Kicks (Car Crash Set 2015) and Gold Chainz (Silverback Recordings 2016) clashed ballroom with cut-up kpop acappellas. His albums Skyline Death and Skyline Death Remixes (Eternal Dragonz 2018–19) were written with vocalists met on tour, channeling Asian rnb and rap through club music. This sound is marked in mixes for The Fader, BBC R1, NTS and Fade to Mind. He has performed at Para Site HK, Sydney Opera House, Carriageworks, Sydney Biennale, and was an early member of Sydney’s ballroom scene with Bhenji Ra and House of Slé.

x/o is Veron Xio, a Vietnamese-Canadian electronic music producer, dj, vocalist and multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver. Focusing on disrupting gender binaries through audiovisual storytelling, x/o uses hyper-feminine/masculine tropes and butterfly evolution allegories to build new worlds exploring nuances in duality and cyclical emotions. x/o’s 2022 album Chaos Butterfly is an epic tale of catharsis and self-actualisation explored through metamorphosis. It is a free-falling kaleidoscopic journey into a beautiful nightmare, both cataclysmic and tender.
