ICA is closed from the 30 May – 3 June inclusive.
There is no such thing as ‘making it’ as an artist. In fact, we’ve already made it, all of us here together. We make, move, write, paint, sculpt, film, recite, disrupt, and we also make up the staffing body of the ICA.
TUESDAY comprises a variety of different works that speak to the idea of art making as a place of possibilities and that encourage experimentation across a multitude of forms and voices.
The realities of juggling a creative practice alongside making a living can at times be exhausting, as making money for self-sustenance often opposes creation as a joyful and necessary practice.
TUESDAY is an alternative way of navigating the art world in which we work, and the work we produce outside of this, in spaces of imagination and creation of our own doing.
Featuring work by Joe Ackerman, Shekinah Eva Ama, Minerva Amiss, Calum Armstrong, Kat Benedict, Balbina Bochuzynka, Steven Cairns, Melanie Coles, Ellen Clarke-Quy, Jenna Coombs, Katherine Corner, Jadine Downes, Sam Ellett, Nichola Farnan, Elijah W Harris, Lyndon Harrison, Michael Henley, Anna Hughes, Jennine Khalik, Nicola Leong, Millie-Beth, Toby Messer, Aija Elina Nieminen, Isabelle Osborne, Katie Page, Kate Price + Lettice Drake, Scott Rimington & Simon Eaves, Holly Roberts, Amrit Sanghera, Daniel Taylor, Samuel Thompson-Plant, Joby Williamson, Lydia Wilks, Bill Daggs.
