Long-term partners Angie and Pat have lived together in Hong Kong for over three decades. When Pat dies unexpectedly, Angie is thrown into precarity after discovering that she has no legal right to their shared home. As the close bond that Angie once shared with Pat’s family begins to disintegrate, Angie must mourn the loss of her soulmate while fighting for the acknowledgement of their relationship. Winner of the Teddy Award at Berlinale, All Shall Be Well offers a nuanced and compassionate look into elderly queer lives, grief, and resilience in the face of indignity.
The screening will be followed by an in-person Q&A with filmmaker Ray Yeung.
