ICA is closed from the 30 May – 3 June inclusive.
Winner of the World Cinema Audience Award at January’s Sundance Film Festival, the latest feature from Alli Haapasalo (Force of Habit, Love and Fury) is a savvy, sassy coming-of-age drama exploring love, sex and maturity through the story of three young girls growing up in Finland.
Mimmi (Aamu Milonoff) and Rönkkö (Eleonoora Kauhanen) are best friends forever, inseparable both at home and at the shopping-mall smoothie stand where they work together. Emma (Linnea Leino), an ice-skater of a similar age, is pursuing her dream to compete at the upcoming European championships, and has time for little else but practice – until she makes Mimmi’s acquaintance at a party. Unfolding over three consecutive Fridays, Haapasalo’s feature follows this trio as they navigate the choppy waters of love, romance and the pursuit of pleasure.
