Multi award winning cinematographer Marcin Koszalka (Red Spider) returns to his concerns around life on the edge in this historical drama about two Polish Highlander brothers, which he also directs. Highlighting the inextricable overlaps of personal and political it uses detailed research to expose the little known story of families torn apart by collaboration during the rise of Nazi Germany. A box office success in Poland last year it is set partly in the beautiful Tatra Mountains where Jędrek and Maciek are two brothers whose blood ties and ideologies clash through romance, family loss and traditional allegiance.
