Off the Record chronicles the unrelenting rise of techno music and club culture through the eyes and ears of DJ and musician Laurent Garnier, who’s journeyed from Manchester’s mythic Haçienda via the clubs of his native Paris to stages and DJ booths around the world over a 30-year career.

Shooting across a three-year period while also drawing on a wealth of previously unseen archive images, director Gabin Rivoire draws an intimate portrait of Garnier as he lives, works and travels the globe. But more than that, Laurent Garnier: Off the Record celebrates not just the music of one man but the uniquely unifying power of the nightclub in contemporary culture and society.
