Meriem Bennani’s playful sci-fi mixes live action footage and computer-generated animation to transport us on the fictional island of CAPS, a megalopolis created to halt people attempting to illegally enter the USA. Questioning the logic of borders, the film sheds light on the USA's current politics of immigration and state control.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with visual artist Anthea Hamilton, hosted by Shasha Movies founder Róisín Tapponi.
