ICA is closed from the 30 May – 3 June inclusive.
In the first of this year’s International Documentary programmes, collective radical activism comes to the fore across the world and across decades. Collectives can change the world, and these documentary shorts present ideas through radical use of image and idea; the simple forms of bending lights, or in surviving a lightning strike. Factory workers taking a break, gossiping in solidarity, escaping from the monotony of the daily grind. A green screen becomes a playground for healing while secrets come to life behind bars. A site of burial is too a site of resurrection.
