Patricio Guzmán documents the protests that exploded onto the streets of Chile’s capital of Santiago in 2019 as the population demanded more democracy and social equality around education, healthcare and job opportunities.
‘October 2019: an unexpected revolution, a social turmoil. A million and a half persons demonstrated in the streets of Santiago demanding more democracy, a better life, a better education and health system and a new Constitution. Chile had recovered its memory… What I had been waiting for since my student struggles in 1973 had finally become reality.’
