The fifth feature from French director Céline Sciamma (Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Girlhood) is a haunting yet enchanting exploration of childhood, memory and loss, and another singular film from one of cinema’s most imaginative filmmakers.
After the death of her beloved grandmother, eight-year-old Nelly makes a mysterious new friend in the woods near her grandmother’s former home – the same house where her mother Marion had been raised some 30 years earlier. Together, Nelly and her strange new companion embark on a fantastical journey of discovery – but will it help Nelly come to terms with her loss?
