Premiering at Cannes and winning Un Certain Regard's Best Actor award for Frank Dilane, Harris Dickison’s debut feature is a lyrical and unflinching portrait of youth lived on the margins of London. At its centre is a career-defining performance from Dillane as a young rough sleeper, whose fragile resilience is revealed in fleeting encounters and fragile connections across the city.

Moving between moments of quiet intimacy and stark isolation, Urchin traces a drifting existence shaped by loss, endurance and the search for tenderness in hostile spaces. Dickison’s film resists easy narratives of redemption, instead unfolding as a poetic study of survival—of the fragile bonds and small gestures that make life possible in the shadows.

Rooted in a contemporary London that feels both familiar and estranged, the film resonates as a strikingly humane debut, announcing Dickison as a filmmaker of rare sensitivity and vision.
