Join Davey Davis and bare minimum collective to celebrate the release of Davis’s novel X, a thrilling portrait of political terror and the violent pleasures found in warehouses, bathrooms, and dungeons across New York City. Davis and bare minimum collective member Christie Costello will be in conversation about X, followed by a ten-minute reading by Davis of the novel's pivotal scene of sadomasochistic ‘total desire’ (Berger). The event will end with the screening of three short films that resonate with this scene from the novel.

Davey Davis’s X (Cipher Press 2022) is a novel that delves into the psyches of characters on the margins. Amid the steady constriction of civil rights and the purging of migrants and refugees, X tells the story of Lee, a down-and-out sadist, who finds themself in the clutches of the seductive and bloodthirsty X.
