Presenting a late night of dancefloor experiments with storied Chicago DJ and producer Jana Rush, a live set by Berlin-based cybernetic vanguard Zoë Mc Pherson, supported by mutated club sounds from Ans M of label Scorpio Red.

Known for her frenetic drums and electronic experimentalism, Jana Rush’s DJ sets are befitting of a veteran of the ghetto house and juke genres, pushing the influential Chicago sound forward with lauded releases on Planet Mu and Objects Ltd.

Zoë Mc Pherson’s euphoric live sets bring a mix of ethereal and gritty dance music without a predictable pulse. Known for energetic live performances, Mc Pherson brings to life their experimental club tracks rooted in rave music, with an always unpredictable rhythmic structure.

Setting the night off is London-based DJ and artist Ans M.

Chicago born and raised, Jana Rush started DJing at the tender age of ten. She began producing just three years later, influenced by DJ Deeon, with whom she released on Dance Mania in 1996 as ‘DJ Deeon Presents The Youngest Female DJ’. After taking a break from music, working as a chemical engineer at an oil refinery by day and as a CAT scan technologist assistant at night, Rush reentered the scene in 2016. Her MPC 7635 EP, released on Objects Ltd. that year, received attention for her mind-bending drum acrobatics. Her 2017 debut album Pariah was lauded as one of the best albums of the year by Resident Advisor, The Wire, Crack Magazine and one of the best albums of the decade by Mixmag.

Described as a ‘vanguard’ by British publication Mixmag and ‘fearless’ by Hyponik, Berlin-based Zoë Mc Pherson is a French-Irish multimedia artist whose practice absorbs elements of performance, sound design, installation art and DJing. Their breathless third album and AV show Pitch Blender is a tight set of cybernetic dancefloor experiments that flicker between the rave and the art space, and arrives courtesy of SFX, the boundary-pushing AV-focused label Mc Pherson runs with their long-time collaborator Alessandra Leone.

Ans M is an artist and DJ based in London whose work weaves between organic ambient soundscapes and distorted club mutations. She co-runs the label Scorpio Red alongside Kelman Duran.
