This selection of archival shorts explores the potential of interventional filmmaking which showcases rare and abandoned footage and reimagines lost landscapes in the digital.

Featuring the interventions of orphaned celluloid, digital manifestations of personal recollection, and landscapes made eerie with memory, we consider how the physicality of the film archive displaces/places cultural history. How does the archive provide both an opportunity for an objective resurrection of the past, and the reconciliation of the home?

Summoning lo-fi nostalgias and rare cultural documents, these films are alight with commemoration and suffuse visual heritage with political reckoning... a cinema impressed into geography and awakened by diligent reimagination. Including experimental digital work 31°42'49.5"N35°10'13.9"E by artist filmmaker Francisca Khamis Giacoman and I Am Also Part of the Three Turns by Monica Maria Moraru (EMAF Award, European Media Arts Festival).
