Koch and Schachmann, third generation Argentine-Jewish filmmakers, take on fictionalised versions of themselves in their delightfully ambitious, hybrid debut feature. It’s a film that asks serious questions about Jewish history and identity in an imaginative and lighthearted manner, and the final scene, featuring a village wedding in Moldova, is a heartwarming distillation of the power of communal music-making.
