'The only way to change things, is to look at everything again, very slowly'

Claire's Camera

The lives of a French teacher (Isabelle Huppert), a Korean filmmaker, his producer and a recently fired film sales person intersect in Hong Sangsoo's Claire's Camera.

Filmed in Cannes during Hong's attendance at the festival, this sketch of a group of people searching for meaning, purpose and connection through love, work and friendship, is one of the filmmakers most profoundly moving and deceptively simple films.

Grass

Death, love, friendship and creativity pour forth with inventive abandon in Hong Sangsoo's Grass, an achingly beautiful tale of tales, told in miniature.

Areum (Kim Minhee) sits in a cafe writing, while all around her intimate dramas and conversations unfold, is she just a quiet observer or something more? Featuring an outstanding ensemble of newcomers and regulars and an exhilarating combination of dialogue and music, Grass, despite its slender runtime, is yet another major work of reinvention.
