These character-led shorts investigate the embodied experience of displacement in relation to migration and queer identities. Encompassing the multi-generational population of a village fleeing Nepal during the Civil War, to the search for a missing daughter in Brazil through a sci-fi lens, this eclectic selection explores the tension between identities and spaces.
Women defy the injustice of power structures, and displacement and decolonial discourse emerge in Siebert’s Fatherland; the story of the grandson of a colonial official from Togo fighting for German citizenship. Featuring emerging filmmakers Gustavo Gamero (Dirt), and Razan Madhoon (Go Home).
