Fifteen years after the original trip to Greece, with a cancer diagnosis once thought final, a filmmaker retraces her journey through the Greek islands – this time with a group of young friends, filming, reading, singing, and moving from ferry to roadside to ruin.

Fuck the Polis traces overlapping journeys: one lived, one written, one unfolding collectively. In the brightness of landscapes and of shared time, it becomes less a return than an act of persistence through experimentation a way of holding onto beauty, and to one another, against and outlasting the pull of despair.

The UK Premiere screening on the 4 June will be followed by an in-person Q&A with filmmaker Rita Azevedo Gomes.
