Butch Lineages with Joelle Taylor
Institute of Contemporary Arts

Butch Lineages are back in 2023. And what better way to start the new year than an audience with Joelle Taylor. Joelle will be giving us a reading from her most recent collection C+nto, followed by a conversation about Butch/Femme relationships and Butch community and culture in London as she’s seen it develop.
Joelle is an award-winning poet and preeminent dyke on the London scene. Joelle’s poetry is widely anthologised, and she is author of four poetry collections including her most recent C+nto. She is a former UK performance poetry slam champion and is founder of the national youth slam championships SLAMbassadors. C+nto explores gender and sexuality and won the TS Elliot prize.

Butch Lineages is a DIY research group run by a bunch of butch dykes, aiming to tackle butch loneliness by bringing us in contact with our history.
