ICA is closed from the 30 May – 3 June inclusive.
These paintings were made between 26th March and 13th August 2020, as most of the world was in lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. Isolation Views is the result of a simple collaborative process. People around the world, experiencing versions of lockdown and isolation, sent photos of their views in response to a post on social media:
“To keep busy and help some cash flow, send me a photo from your window / of your building / your favourite building and I’ll paint an A5 watercolour…”
One hundred paintings, of one hundred different views, each taking a day to paint.
