The final session of Rave Reading Group is a 2-hour movement session led by curator Sara Sassanelli. The aim of the session is to move and dance together, explore embodied feelings, and experiment with listening while moving. The session digs into the elements of the collective and enthusiastic cultures that congregate around the practice of raving. Extending beyond the rave itself, the sessions consider how the sensations and materials of raving - the fog, the lights, the dissociation and music - have started taking shape in artists’ practices, in writing and in discourse. Through a series of somatic exercises, the session explores why raving can feel like a conducive place for living beyond contemporary constraints.
