Animation Variety Show
Institute of Contemporary Arts
A Tiny Man, dir. Aude David, Mikaël Gaudin, France 2022, 10mins

A glowing cat presides over an erotic dreamscape. A pesky stye in an eye grows to the size of the moon. Capturing these surreal flights of fancy is only possible via the medium of animation, and our annual selection of films takes in every tool and technique you can imagine; watercolour, charcoal, pen, digital. From the macabre to the erotic, the sinister to the sweet.

Bodily sensations and metaphors find form pulsing, dancing, growing and shrinking across the screen, with limitless and formless possibilities stretching in every direction. Our annual celebration of animation features filmmakers from across the world, creating beautiful and inspiring works that push against and leap from the cinema screen.
