LONDON PREMIERE
yours, + Q&A
Institute of Contemporary Arts
yours,, dir. Eva Giolo, Rebecca Jane Arthur, Katja Mater, Sirah Foighel Brutmann & Eitan Efrat, Maaike Neuville. Belgium 2023, Dutch, English, French with English subtitles, 82 min.

In yours,, a group of artists respond polyphonically to one starting prompt, the work and legacies of Belgian filmmaker Chantal Akerman, who passed away in 2015. Themes of home, alientation, and motherhood surface across domestic scenes, city subways and the Negev/Negeb desert.

Produced as five shorter pieces as part of the 10th Contour Biennial for Moving Image in Mechelen, their combining into a single, feature length work comes to form a heartfelt quintet to consider collaboration and dialogue between artists, even in absentia, guided by their shared epistolary mode used in homage to Akerman's News From Home (1976).

The screening is the London premiere of the film, followed by an in-person Q&A with Rebecca Jane Arthur.
