28 November – 14 December 2025

A special programme of five films from the work of Brazil-based, Portuguese filmmaker and co-founder of boundary-pushing production company TERRATREME, Pedro Pinho, on the occasion of (and culminating in) the ICA UK release of I Only Rest in the Storm.
With a singular approach that merges fiction, documentary, and political commentary, Pedro Pinho has become one of the most consistent and quietly radical voices in contemporary European cinema. This season presents four of his most compelling works, including the internationally acclaimed The Nothing Factory (2017), a genre-defying portrait of workers resisting the closure of their factory, and Bab Sebta (2008), an early hybrid documentary co-directed with Frederico Lobo that traces migration routes to the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. Also featured is Trading Cities (2014), co-directed with Luisa Homem, which explores the shifting dynamics of global commerce.
Whether depicting collective struggle or the disorienting effects of global capitalism, Pinho’s cinema is marked by boldness, urgency, and a commitment to the lives of those at the margins.
