Bios
Holly Smith is a historian of architecture and protest. She is a Fellow at St John’s College, University of Cambridge. Her research has been awarded the Duncan Tanner Prize by Oxford University Press and the Hawksmoor Medal by the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain. She has a PhD from University College London.
Jessica Field has a Humanities PhD and is a Research Affiliate at the University of Manchester. Following her parents’ eviction threat in 2017 and the community formation of #SaveOurHomesLS26, she ran the saveourhomesLS26.org campaign website and wrote for the Guardian and Red Pepper. In 2022, she won the Dawn Foster Memorial Essay Prize. Eviction is her first book.

- The Nash and Brandon Rooms are located on the second floor and can be accessed via a ramp and lift from Carlton House Terrace. Please note that the lift is small (see measurements in our Visual Story Guide) and cannot accommodate motorised wheelchairs; a transfer to a standard chair is required. For assistance, please speak to staff at the front desk on arrival or contact us in advance at access@ica.art.
