Conjuring reality and wonder, Marija Stojnić’s Speak so I Can See You invites the viewer to discover the insights of the renowned Radio Belgrade. One of Europe’s oldest radio stations, Radio Belgrade holds as a strong institution in the Serbian capital, as the station broadcasts original programming and helps preserve history, culture and critical thinking, as well as ever-relevant questions about oneself and their surroundings from slipping out of memory and mind.
Set at the intersection of an observational documentary and a sensory experience, the film conjures everyday scenes at the station and immersing interludes exploring the relationship between sound and the space it inhabits. Blending sounds, words, notes, echoes and light, the viewer is invited into a soundscape that unfolds as a love letter to the radiophonic art.
