Queer Resistances Forum
‘We gathered in circles and discussed their pasts, presents, and futures. The forum was part of collective decision-making and organizing during and after Gezi Uprising. Let’s gather in a forum on queer resistance and share our memories and perspectives of queer/lubunya/trans existences and resistances.’
Rüzgâr Buşki, born in 1987 in Istanbul is a Berlin based artist. Their artistic practice focuses on printmaking, video and performance. They explore themes such as belonging, affect, identity, desire and tradition. Buşki hacks old media with contemporary topics, reclaiming materials such as wood and stone as exchangeable mediums. They produce and direct hybrid documentaries by building empowering productions for and with marginalised communities, queering the rules of filmmaking.

Lalu (Esra) Özban is a maker, curator, exhibitor and archivist of audiovisual media. They are currently a Ph.D. candidate in Film and Digital Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Lalu’s artistic, curational and scholarly work focuses on trans, queer and feminist theories, histories, pedagogies and praxis.

Şevval Kılıç is an Istanbul-based trans organizer, LGBTI+, and sex rights advocate. She is also the "biblo" of DJ decks, where she plays various melodic techno and house forms. She has been part of grassroots feminist and trans organizing for over 20 years. She is also one of the co-founders of Istanbul-based queer nightlife collective-- Queerwaves.
