Emulsion presents: Halcyon Veil
Institute of Contemporary Arts

Book tickets

ICA and Emlusion Mag host a seminal event highlighting the groundbreaking Halcyon Veil. The event is a collaborative curatorial effort between Houston-based multidisciplinary artist Rabit and Mikey Opie O’Grady of Emulsion, the London-based DIY art magazine collective. Several prominent artists signed to Halcyon Veil will perform live, alongside freeform contributions from special guests and friends of the label, celebrating the fluid approach that it is renowned for.

Since its inception in 2015, Halcyon Veil has redefined the boundaries of electronic music, blending fragmented rhythms, ambient textures, and radical sonic experimentation rooted in the Deep South of the U.S. Co-founded by Rabit and filmmaker Lane Stewart, Halcyon Veil is more than a record label; it is a creative nexus for artists who subvert genre conventions.

The event will be headlined by affiliates Lol K, Bapari, Rat Section, and IVVVO—with each artist bringing a unique approach to electronic music. From jagged, industrial beats to haunting melodic soundscapes, the lineup embodies the label’s pioneering sound.
