Brick Lane Jazz Festival spreads its London wings across town to warm up for their next iteration. Joining us to toast in the 2024 lineup are Spirit of Sundaze Ensemble, the latest live evolution from the festival’s 2023 Official Afterparty headliners Secretsundaze – the East London DJs / producers, label and party series.
Sitting at the intersection of live music and club culture, leading contemporary musicians reimagine, record and perform a selection of tracks which have been foundational across Secretsundaze’s 20+ year history, embracing a myriad of influences from balearic to synth pop to Brit funk.
Recording 20 tracks across Fish Factory and Press Play Studios, all the source material has played a key part in Secretsundaze since their inception in 2002, as well as lending itself well to the concept and explorations of the Ensemble members.
The ensemble’s first single, a reimagination of Photek’s seminal ‘Mine to Give’, featuring Wayne Snow on vocals, garnered wide support including BBC 6 Music plays from Gilles Peterson and Nabihah Iqbal, through to NTS and Worldwide FM tastemakers including Zakia, Moxie and Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy.

- The Stage has step free access via The Mall entrance and lift. The lift in the Stage is self-controlled with hand control, with two buttons for up and down (max weight 300kg). It is without sides and includes a vertical pole to hold on to. It operates quietly and will not disrupt the performance. Our Public Advisors can also assist.
