ICA is closed from the 30 May – 3 June inclusive.
Revered electronic label Wisdom Teeth celebrates its 10th year with a one-off live showcase at The ICA.
Label heads Facta and K-LONE will present the London debut of their new collaborative live show, which marks a fresh new development to the duo’s distinctive sound. Marrying elements of shoegaze, ambient, fourth world and drone, these new works channel the esoteric sounds explored on their respective solo LPs ‘Blush’ and ‘Cape Cira’ into a lush and jammy new approach - building rich and expansive soundscapes from the close interplay of looped guitars and improvised electronics.
They are joined on the bill by US artist Tristan Arp (Asa Tone, Human Pitch), who joined Wisdom Teeth in 2021 for the release of his acclaimed debut LP, Sculpturegardening (ranked amongst Pitchfork’s best electronic LPs, 2021). Set to release his anticipated second LP later this year, his live appearance at The ICA marks a unique opportunity to preview his forthcoming works in an immersive live setting. Visiting from New York, this is a rare opportunity to see a vital contemporary talent at work.
Bristol leading-light and Livity Sound alumni Surgeons Girl completes the line up. Fresh off the back of a landmark live show at The Southbank Centre - a collaboration with Bristol’s Paraorchestra - her appearance at the ICA is a chance to see her perform solo in a more intimate setting. In collaboration with her suite of analogue machines, Surgeons Girl creates music that is cinematic, melodic and emotive, taking influence from golden-era ambient techno and synth pioneers to create something contemporary and unique.
