Kübra Uzun is an Istanbul-based singer, songwriter, performance artist, DJ and LGBTQIA+ rights activist working in Turkey and also on an international basis on various platforms. Kübra wrote, sang and produced the song ‘ALAN2020’ with Mx. Sür and it became an anthem during Istanbul Pride in June 2020. She will debut an original piece as part of Transpose 2023 this coming June at the Barbican Centre.

KAAN is the musical alias of Erkan Affan. Working both as an experimental composer (particularly with archival material from his native province of Hatay) and as a DJ, he experiments with folk and country music from Turkey, Armenia and the Arabic-speaking region, whilst also layering it with the breakbeat, dub and electronic music he grew up exposed to daily as a native south Londoner.

GIRL UNIT is an essential member of London’s eclectic Night Slugs camp. Girl Unit’s music is steeped in low-end pressure but also reaches toward a classic timelessness. Time-honoured elements of production sit seamlessly alongside the most contemporary sounds, as Girl Unit densely layers radio gloss and big melodies over beats that take influence from a variety of club and pop sources.

Akış Ka is a character, perhaps a monster, who wanders between the walls of binary genders and even breaks those walls. She is an out of place, and thanks to you, a timeless player. She is a multidisciplinary queer performance artist. Her practice spans from performance to songwriting to creating Youtube videos and hosting talk shows. She approaches her practice and her life as an anamorphic gesamtkunstwerk, an ongoing state of transformation. What motivates her practice is to leave queer marks on art history. She will debut an original piece as part of Transpose 2023 this coming June at the Barbican Centre.

Must KiKA was born in Istanbul and graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Textile Design. Kika has been a make-up artist since 2010. In the last few years, they started to concentrate on stage works by using their skills on make-up, textile and dance. During the pandemic, they created a series of erotic textile surface works. As a multi-skilled drag performer, Kika has been on stage in various platforms of Istanbul since 2018. In 2020, they took a part as an actor in the short film Free Fun. They will debut an original piece as part of Transpose 2023 this coming June at the Barbican Centre.
