Fragile as the World
+ introduction
Institute of Contemporary Arts
Fragile as the World, dir. Rita Azevedo Gomes, Portugal 2001, 91 mins, Portuguese with English subtitles

Book tickets

Rita Azevedo Gomes' second feature is a love story suspended between fable and elegy, where the pact of young lovers to never part becomes a choreography of passion and vulnerability against the silent embrace of fields and fog. Rita Azevedo Gomes whispers literary resonance into the fabric of the image, conjuring a cinema that is elemental and dreamlike – an ode to devotion in the face of impermanence.

The screening will be preceded by an introduction from Blanca García.
Blanca García is a Spanish writer, filmmaker, and researcher based in London.
