IF I MAY is an exploration of bravery in artistic practice spanning voice, performance, and movement. Bringing together four artists, the event explores what it means to extend the self outward – and to remain present for whatever comes back.
Singer Nali, performers Sienna King and Sabrena Osei-Tutu, and creative Cash Nahuo each bring a distinct language to the stage. Their practices reveal that vulnerability, when rendered with intention, is its own form of power. Together, their work asks the audience not simply to observe, but to reckon with their own role as witness, and to consider what it means to receive another person's truth.
Curated by PRIM's K Bailey Obazee, the evening is grounded in the belief that artistic bravery is not the absence of fear, but the refusal to let fear have the final word.
Presented by Gushing in collaboration with Montez Press Radio and ICA. With thanks to Arts Council England.

Nali is a Swiss-born Cape Verdean singer, songwriter, producer and visual artist based in London, exploring her inner landscape through music and imagery. Blending contrasting elements such as jazz, post-punk and cinematic textures with vulnerable lyricism, Nali creates an evocative sound that is both unmistakable and unpredictable. Her debut EP ‘Oneiro’, introduced with a live performance at the National Theatre in London, is a dreamlike reflection on her journey of self-reconnection. The project is accompanied by conceptual visuals directed by her, influenced by Black portraiture, surrealism and minimalist aesthetics.
A self-taught songwriter, producer and video director, Nali approaches her craft intuitively, focusing on atmosphere and emotion over rules and genre.
CASH NAHUO (b.1999) is a Guyanese-Ivorian multidisciplinary artist based in South London. His practice engages performance as a vehicle to investigate the emotional, spiritual, and physical dimensions of grief. Through psycho-spiritual movement, he explores moments of disillusionment as acts of resistance and sites of transformation, which he refers to as “Black States”.
He is a member of the International Kiki House of Laveaux, as well as the co-founder of the Waywaad Collective and baby father to TRANSHOOD – a Black, anti-disciplinary, trans-led initiative. TRANSHOOD is committed to centering the voices and lived experiences of Black trans and queer individuals. Through this work, TRANSHOOD seeks to cultivate radical spaces that affirm and nurture Black trans life, offering environments that are intentional, liberating, and rooted in connection and care.
Sienna King is a British creative working across fashion and film. She began as a model, gracing global campaigns and editorials, walking for leading fashion houses – Ferragamo, Vivienne Westwood, Rick Owens, and Wales Bonner, and appearing in publications including Vogue, W, and Dazed. She transitioned into screen work with her debut in The Little Mermaid (2023), alongside voice and independent film projects that continue to expand her practice.
Sabrena Osei-Tutu's work is driven by a desire to tell honest, layered stories – drawing on her Caribbean heritage, relationships, and lived experiences. Through each medium, Sienna explores identity and connection, creating work that feels both personal and collective as well as grounded yet forward-looking.
Sabrena Osei-Tutu is an actor, writer, and a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the human experience through storytelling. Her practice centres on voice, embodiment, and the reclamation of stories that exist on the margins. She trained at Identity School of Acting and RADA , with roles ranging from Lady Macbeth and Puck to Natasha in Three Sisters and Private Mason in Journey’s End; each an excavation of power, vulnerability, and transformation.
Her practice extends into poetry and film. She performed in a short poetry film for the Adrian Brinkerhoff Foundation, reinterpreting Anne Sexton’s Her Kind . Before drama school, she performed as a drag king and spoken-word poet, using language and physicality to shift energy and perspective, exploring the power of language and embodiment. Her monologue appears in Rikki Beadle-Blair’s Lit, and she co-hosts an annual art show with her twin, bringing together poetry, music, and visual art to celebrate community and creative expression.
