With a background in experimental music, she has long been interested in the ways that AI can be used to compose and improvise. Through spoken word, Rommi Smith presents a new work in collaboration with Christella Litras on keyboard/vocals, responding to The Thin Black Line, Maud Sulter’s Zabat and beyond. 

Humanities is a collaborative performance by Laxlan Petras, Yasmin Saleh, and Amber Fasquelle, unfolding as a live experiment in proximity, perception, and communal vulnerability. Originally commissioned for Berlin Atonal (2023), this opera performed in-the-round has been extended and made site-specific for ICA.

The Grubby Mitts are nine piece band from Bedford, fronted by artist Andy Holden. They are noted for their elaborate and exuberant live shows, augmented by Holden’s animated projections. The band present the launch of their new concept album, ‘Love in the Misanthropocene’, accompanied by a brass section. Support from comedian, Simon Munnery. 

Kara-Lis Coverdale composes and performs musical works across acoustic and electronic mediums to create works that transcend reality. With support from Jennifer Walton.

With an idiosyncratic sound that is at once sardonic and yet intensely poignant, Famous have developed a reputation as one of the most exciting and unconventional live acts on the London underground circuit. Support from Lauren Auder.

In conjunction with Oblique_Futures, Diagonal Records descends on the ICA for a specially-curated evening of radical and affirmative electronic/computer music and Hi-sensitive film.

The band’s classic 4th album, heard as never before. Remixed in full spatial audio from the original multitracks. Sit deep inside tracks such as Hoppípolla, Saeglópur and Sé lest, hearing the sheer beauty and sonic ambition of the songs revealed in exquisite new detail.

Bradley Miller, known artistically as cktrl, recently announced his highly anticipated debut album, spirit, set for release on September 19th via R&R.

What do we know of Milkweed? Enough, and nearly nothing. They are a duo. They use voice, guitar and banjo. They describe their sound as slacker-trad, which is both true and somehow insufficient. They perform as part of our in-the-round spatial series this October.

The Art of This, an off shoot, a descendant, a sub-set of electronic pioneers Art of Noise, make their performance debut at ICA. This show will feature words, music and images by Art of This, Art of Noise and the art of others, and will be a performance in the round, using the venue's 360° spatial soundsystem, d&b Soundscape.

Mermaid Chunky. It’s all in a name, sometimes. The danceable, costumed, curiosity rich duo of artists Freya Tate and Moina Moin are as imaginative as they profess. Or, to get more to the point, as we all need them to be. They perform as part of our in-the-round spatial series this October.

As part of a series of In the Round shows this October, Titanic, the chamber-jazz-meets-art-pop collaboration between Mabe Fratti and I La Catolica, will perform live using the venue's 360° spatial soundsystem, d&b Soundscape. Special guest set from Polish composer Stefan Wesołowski.

Phew is a legendary figure in Japanese underground music and was a founding member of the legendary Japanese punk band Aunt Sally. Supported by Freddie Murphy, a sound artist and curator based in Torino, Italy.

Los Thuthanaka (founded by West Coast artists Chuquimamani-Condori and Joshua Chuquimia Crampton) bridges the past, present and future of the mighty Pakajaqui Nation through a potent blend of Andean rhythms, Aymara composition and psychedelic rock to create a style of Andean music unheard until now. Support from Nazar and Pollyfromthedirt.

Composed of best friends and co-conspirators Asha and Louis, joined by drummer Lincoln Barrett, multi-instrumentalist Campbell Baum, and Marco Pini on electronics, Sorry have created their own distinctive musical world - one that draws together a shared passion for lo-fi sounds of grunge, trap, and shoegaze.

Protomartyr perform 2 nights at ICA. The band's taut, austere rock was incubated in a freezing Detroit warehouse littered with beer cans and cigarette butts and warmed, feebly, by space heaters.

Joanne Robertson is a musician, painter and poet. Joanne collaborates regularly with her friends, most recently with Dean Blunt on Backstage Raver. Also peforming is Raisa K, aka Raisa Khan, a songwriter, producer and musician who recently recently released her debut solo record, and one of the albums of the year, Affectionately.

Genre-breaking drummer, producer and composer Sarathy Korwar presents a live rendition of his forthcoming album – the first release on his own new label – made up entirely of live drums, drum-triggered electronics and human voices. Support from Loah & Suntou Sesso.

The London label celebrates 5 years of activity by bringing together its first 2 signings - tuba master Theon Cross and cult trio Ill Considered - for an evening of pure, improvised music.

Craven Faults returns to London for the first time since the sold-out debut at 9294 in February 2024. Further longform electronic journeys across post-industrial northern Britain – performed on modular synthesiser with live projections.

Coming out of retirement, one of the most flamboyant musical discoveries of the 20 years, Baby Dee, performs an intimate headline show at ICA. Please note this performance has been rescheduled to November 25th (from September 2nd). Support is from London-based folk musician, banjo player, and Shovel Dance Collcetive member, Jacken Elswyth. 

Indie rock legend Lou Barlow takes the stage for a rare career-spanning set (Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, The Folk Implosion), from lo-fi anthems to intimate solo gems, weaving together songs from every chapter of his groundbreaking journey.

Finessekid is a young rapper from South London making serious waves in the UK scene. Emerging in 2024 through viral snippets and cyphers, he quickly built a reputation for sharp wordplay, infectious hooks, and cutting boasts, earning co-signs from the likes of Skepta. 

A version of james K was born. Comprised of bones, reactive metals and a larynx with freckled eyes that catalyzes that mix, she can now see through all the schemes. This is the truth. When she chews gum, it’s not clear which one of her personas does it. Since their first release in 2013, describing them separately is grunt work as they switch places, cosplay each other and would most likely lull you into a lonesome dream.

Courtesy brings her Against Interpretation Club to the ICA — part group show, part club night —where musicians, DJs, and contemporary artists explore performance, music and sound.
